LJ claims it's back

I know everyone's been having problems. I'm posting this hear as a heads up and hope you guys can get in. They made an announcement about the problems. I love how they called it "malicious traffic". They are hackers. You got hacked again because Russia sucks and someone is posting about politics and they don't want them to use free speech and talk bad about their crappy government. That's what's happened AGAIN. Here's the post from the LJ staff.

LiveJournal is currently up, but you may encounter some problems while attempting to use the service. Specifically, some pages may load slowly, the site may not respond when trying to login, and attempting to post entries or comments may result in intermittent errors. For people using certain Internet Service Providers (ISPs), LiveJournal is completely unavailable.

While LiveJournal has experienced some issues with our servers which we have posted about earlier, these issues have been resolved. The current problems are being caused by a sharp increase in malicious traffic which began on December 31. The first wave of that traffic was targeted at profile pages. As a temporary response to this, we disabled profile pages to maintain availability of the rest of the service.

We have already un-blocked profile pages but at this time, but some people using ISPs which have contributed to the malicious traffic are still being blocked by our mitigation system. We understand that there are legitimate users affected by this; in order to allow these people to access the site, we are taking steps to make the list of blocked addresses more precise so no legitimate users are affected.

In case your ISP is being blocked, there are several ways you can try to access the site:

*The Opera browser has a Turbo mode which works like a proxy server; LiveJournal may be available through this feature in Opera;
*If have access to an alternate ISP, try connecting through that ISP;
*You can try using any proxy servers available to you so your request is routed through networks that are not being blocked. If you do this, we strongly suggest you only use the servers you trust; passing your username and password through an untrusted network (e.g. in order to log in) can result in your account being compromised.

We apologize for the inconvenience these problems have caused.

Clearly people are still having trouble and yes it is slow. I don't trust it. I hate Blogger though. I had my fill of that yesterday. Dreamwidth is a little better now. They now have a layout called Lemon that looks a lot like our Flexible Squares and it's pretty easy to customize your colors. I have mine kind of layed out like here. I know most of you have on there so I will use that from now on.
Here is my Dreamwidth account. I don't think it's invite only anymore. I tried to find my invites to send one to Kabuldur but I couldn't find them. So I highly recommend you guys get one if anything just to comment to me. This political crap will keep happening and we can use that place to post until it blows over. Also so we can all stay up to date. So please get one and join me over there. I'll be glad to help you guys out with layouts if need be.

Because LJ is down. And New Year

I hate this place, but I will use it when Livejournal isn't working. Like it isn't working now. I can get to my own journal but I can't get to my friends page. I can't get to anyone's profile which sucks. Chris and I have really been loving Sims 3. I have pretty much finished Thanatos's house. I even uploaded the first version to the exchange. I left the original wall colors because it has such a neat gradient the original architect made. I admire that guy. Too bad he hasn't played since 2009. I have started a new game in Moonlight Falls. I am in the process of placing buildings, Sims and kicking out the local town's folk. I want as few supernaturals in this as possible, though I have a few of my Sims set as magic casters. I will turn off everything except witches and set the moon to one phase as before. I'm not ready to play with all supernatural characters yet. And the Zombies just suck even if you don't have a garden. I will make a video and take still pics of the house I built because it just rocks.

Yes, so today's Jan 1st. Happy New Year. I need five new calendars. That will be expensive. I'll have to buy a few at a time. I already made the list of which ones I want. I narrowed it down which was not easy. I love calendars and I found some with really nice art and themes for this year.

Last night an Eastern Phoebe got into our front patio. I don't know how or why that happened. But it was to dark to let him go, so I caught him and put him in Seep Seep's cage. I put Seep Seep in with Abigail and Cinnamon Bun. I got pics of him I'll share when LJ comes back. I also got video. I just let him go this morning. It was so neat that this was an aggressive birds. I love aggressive birds that fight back. I don't have to worry about them dying of fright. He made cool snapping sounds with his beak but it's all a bluff because they can't bit hard. They have long thin bills for catching insects.

I got one of my nepenthes in the mail yesterday. One of Chris's Christmas gifts. It's the N. lowii x campanulata. I fell in love with it as soon as I pulled it out of the box. Definitely one of the coolest neps in my collection. I will get pics of that soon too. I think it will love the lowland conditions, once those conditions return with our normal heat. I have noticed the days are getting longer! The rainbows are returning to my window. I have a crystal in the big kitchen window and a few rainbows are forming. Gah, I'm already behind on stuff. I need to upload my Christmas videos to youtube. I am determined to meet most of my goals this year. Twelve months should be more than enough time. Ok I think that's it for now. Man I miss LJ. Oh, got to get used to writing 2013 and 13 now. Hey, but 13 is always lucky for me so I'm expecting good things this year.

EDIT: Hey I found where to edit colors. I wonder if I can get a header image? This looks much better now though not perfect. And though I like most of the colors here it's still rather bland.

Wow a post

Ok, so after screwing around and making a new blogger here I realized you could just change your url. Well unfortunately I lost the url I wanted because I thought if I changed the new one I could get the old one here. But looks like it's gone. That sucks. I'm a bit annoyed with myself but then I remembered they allow the dash so now the url is thagirion-3. So now I have an extra blogger that I'm just going to let sit around. How annoying especially after I added everyone again and even commented. Will have to let them know of my error. Sigh. Anyway, so yeah I'm still glad I have this with my starting date as 2007. I still prefer LiveJournal. I still will only use this to comment to those I watch when I remember to log in. So join me on
